Rev. Dr. Cecelia Williams Bryant

Rev. Dr. Cecelia Williams Bryant is an accomplished author, preacher, teacher and missionary. She is the spouse of the Right Reverend John Richard Bryant, the 106th Consecrated Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. They serve Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado Northwest Missouri, California, Southern California and Pacifica Northwest Conference. She is the mother of Rev. Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant and Thema Simone Bryant- Davis, Ph.D.

Affectionately known as Rev. Dr. “C,” she is the author of several publications which address the spiritual foundations of women: Kiamsha, Kujua, I Dance With God, and OSUSU.

Her ministries to women began in New England and have spread throughout the United States, Canada, England, Amsterdam, Israel, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Bermuda, Guyana, Ghana and Nigeria. Rev. Dr. “C” has established Women’s Resource and development centers in Baltimore, MD, Houston, TX, Liberia, The Ivory Coast and Free Town Sierra Leone. The Center in Sierra Leone has been named in her honor. She has established schools for children in Cambridge MA, Dallas, TX and a primary school in Grand Bassa Liberia that bears her name. In January 2003,
Dr. “C” initiated the Children of Promise Housing Mission for 30 children in Cape Town, South African. In 2000, Dr.”C” organized the OSUSU (Women Creating Wealth) Campaign in 15 states on the West Coast of the United States. This initiative included the elimination of poverty, financial literacy, debt elimination, home ownership, and moving from welfare to work.
