Mrs. Connie S. Richardson is the spouse of Bishop
Adam Jefferson Richardson, the Presiding Prelate of the Second Episcopal
District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church which includes
Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia and North Carolina. Bishop Richardson
is the 115th elected and consecrated Bishop of the AMEC.
As a professional, Connie Richardson has an exemplary
career profile as a national board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner.
For the past 35 years she has been devoted to teaching nursing students.
She recently retired as a Professor of Nursing at Tallahassee Community
College. She is a graduate of Tuskegee Institute (University) and
the Medical College of Georgia. She did post-master's work at the
University of Florida.
She has served as Episcopal Supervisor of the Women’s
Missionary Society of the Fourteenth Episcopal District, West Africa
and the Nineteenth Episcopal District, South Africa. During that
time, she was engaged in studying and facilitating educational programs
and discussions on health related problems with specific emphasis
on HIV and AIDS. While serving in South Africa she was robed by
the Women’s Missionary Society and named Masechaba, “Mother
of Nations.”
She and her husband have two adult children,
Monique, a practicing attorney and Trey who holds two Master Degrees,
Saxophone Performance and Music Theory. In her quiet time, she enjoys
music and watching almost all sports. |
