Mr. Claytie Davis, Jr.
Episcopal Supervisor, Eighteenth Episcopal District

Episcopal Supervisor Claytie Davis, Jr. is a man who epitomizes the essence of a family, church and community leader. He is the exemplary father of two successful adult sons, Dr. Claytie III and Corey Barrington Davis. Furthermore, he is very attentive to his aging parents, as the oldest of seven siblings. His newest joy is his granddaughter.

Davis is married to the Right Reverend Sarah F. Davis, the Presiding Prelate of the Eighteenth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. They are assigned to serve Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Mozambique and Northeast Lesotho.

His training in the U.S. Army in the Medical Corps and his 29 years of service at Southwestern Bell Corporation prior to retirement provide him a wealth of talent for the task. Prior to his retirement, he was Director of Marketing-Data Products in San Antonio, Texas.

Church work has remained a constant in his life. He has served in numerous leadership positions including the Trustee and Steward Boards of Wesley Chapel AMEC-Houston, Texas and on the Trustee Board of Bethel AMEC, San Antonio, TX. Community work has always been essential for this church man who served as an active director of the Board of Paul Quinn College, Dallas, TX and as a Director of the Scouting Program for six years. During his tenure, he revitalized both the girls and boys troops as well as and established a scholarship fund.
