Episcopal Supervisor Arelis Beevers Davis serves the
Nineteenth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal
Church with her spouse Bishop James L. Davis, the Presiding Prelate
of the area serving the Northern half of the Republic of South Africa
headquartered in Johannesburg.
She has been married for twenty nine years, and considers
her greatest gift in life as being a mother. She has two daughters,
Damarys Monique Davis and Nicole Tatiana Pass (Patrick Pass). Their
grandson has heightened their family joy.
Born in Samana, Dominican Republic, Mrs. Davis moved
to the United States and was educated in the Belmar Public School
System in Belmar, New Jersey, Mrs. Davis earned the Bachelor of
Arts degree from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia and Master
of Education Degree, with an emphasis in Spanish Education, from
the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Mrs. Davis has twenty-three
years experience as an educator in the public school systems. In
this profession she has had a great impact on the lives of the next
generation of leaders.
As Episcopal Supervisor she is charged with
preparing missionaries for their role in the church, counseling
and serving as a role model to minister’s spouses. Her passion
includes establishing the “Hope and Healing” Ministry,
which focuses on health awareness, breast cancer awareness and other
women’s health issues. She plans to effectively minister to
those who are impacted by health issues that plague our community
especially HIV/AIDS. |
